Set up separate Claude profiles with Switch
Requirements, profiles, shortcuts and selective local sharing in Switch for macOS 14+. Learn what is available in the current personal build.
Before you start
Switch 2 requires macOS 14 or later and manages separate Claude Desktop accounts. Bring your own Claude accounts and access. Switch does not include an Anthropic subscription.
Install Claude Desktop using Anthropic’s official instructions. Switch is currently an ad-hoc signed personal build, not a notarized public release. This site does not offer a Switch installer.
Make your accounts recognizable
- Open the manager from the Switch Dock icon.
- Create a profile for each account. Use names such as Work and Personal, and choose from eight colors.
- Drag the profiles into your preferred order.
- Sign in separately to each Claude account and confirm the account before starting work.
Each profile keeps its own login and colored Dock icon. Your profiles can stay signed in together. The illustration on the homepage uses sample names; it is not a screenshot of your accounts.
Choose an account from the Dock or keyboard
Use a profile’s Dock icon, select it in the Switch manager, or press its assigned global shortcut. Shortcuts such as Control–Command–1 are editable and visible in the manager.
Keyboard switching continues with the manager window closed while Switch stays running. Read the keyboard guide for a simple way to check your assignments.
Current availability
A public download, pricing and purchase flow have not been announced. Switch has no license service or updater. Full import, recovery and Claude-update recovery are not current features.
This guide describes the existing personal build. Public installation instructions will need to match the eventual signed release and distribution process.
